Support and Coverage

Rebel Yell made it onto the comic-culture news site Bounding into Comics, giving us some coverage over our recent deplatforming by IndieGoGo. BiC notes that this isn't the first time creators have had trouble with IndieGoGo:
Last October, IndieGoGo shut down Arkhaven Comics's Backers for Alt-Hero: Q crowdfunding campaign after the issue began trending #1 on the crowdfunding platform site. Backers for Alt-Hero: Q received a message from IndieGoGo stating their transactions for Alt-Hero: Q had been refunded. They also indicated that "IndieGoGo's Trust and Safety Team determined this campaign didn't comply with our Terms of Use."
Their situation is very similar to ours, though in a much larger amount.

Jon Del Arroz, award-winning science-fiction author and creator of the superhero series "Flying Sparks," also gave us a very nice write up on his own blog. He warns of the present and future dangers hinted at by IGG's conduct:

Rebel Yell is made by a small creative team, a group that made only $541 on the campaign, so it’s not likely to get much attention by any of the major outlets, but it’s still something harrowing. This company is not safe, and is messing with multiple projects not before they go up, but after backers have given funds to it. Oddly, IndieGoGo had no problem with their Issue #1 and allowed the campaign through without any problems. The crowdfunding platform is not safe to use at all, and it appears they’re far more willing to take action on their own to harm creator owned comic projects. Use the site at your own risk.

We can't thank him enough for all the help he's given us these past few days.
